Chaos in Motion

“Chaos in Motion” is Arne Quinze’s latest development of art pieces. In conjunction with earlier works like the “Chaos Box” self-portrait, where Quinze investigates the multitude of thoughts and inspiration inside his own head, he now returns back to more compositional work researching chaos in time. For Quinze the existence of chaos is null. Often quoted as “There’s no chaos, only structure” all to him is structured. With “Chaos in Motion” he challenged himself to capture and create so-called chaos.

At first sight this wooden art piece seems a chaotic mixture of orange and natural coloured wooden slats assisted by coloured glass parts. Yet at a closer look one will notice all is put
in a specific place, having a precise function. Seemingly constantly seeking for an equilibrium the structure never loses its balance. It’s almost like you can see the installation moving. By capturing and researching the right curves Quinze succeeded in freezing the dimension of movement.
