Wildflower Fields painting — Atelier, Sint-Martens-Latem, Belgium

Erysimum

Erysimum, oil paint on canvas, 2m x 3m, Arne Quinze, 2020

Erysimum is Arne Quinze's last work created in 2020. This giant painting depicts the whirling power of nature in his wildflower garden, his laboratory. Autumn and Winter have turned the garden in a wonderful landscape of plants in decay with subtle reddish brown tints. These leftovers will nourish the soil and within only a few months, their offspring will take over the garden. No need to use any fertilisers in a wildflower garden, we only need to embrace the beauty of decay: Mono No Aware.
