Subhirtella, a Wildflower Fields painting by Arne Quinze

Sint-Martens-Latem, Belgium

Subhirtella, a Wildflower Fields painting

For Arne Quinze, his wildflower garden is his inexhaustible source of inspiration. According to the artist, the duality of nature lies in the fragility of nature's force and in the force of nature's fragility. Quinze is always looking for the ideal balance between these two elements and translates this onto the canvas.

The orange figures in Subhirtella are Arne Quinze’s interpretation of the sun shimmering through the foliage of the trees. It depicts the conversation between the arrays of the sun and the flowers gently swayed by the wind creating a majestic play of light.
